How does the leader influence the mental health of his collaborators

?

Mental health is an essential aspect within the work environment, in addition, it is a determining factor in the performance of employees. Here, the leader plays an important role, according to Enori Larrabure: “Today’s leader has a transcendental role: to motivate, guide and unite employees, but also to take action that can prevent the appearance of problems related to mental health. Leadership and mental health care go hand in hand for the management of committed and high-performance teams”.

Also, the Strategic Talent Management specialist mentions that: “Today, leaders prioritize the mental health of their collaborators as a priority in their actions, training and development. They are aware that they must strengthen skills focused on the management of emotions, establishing close and trusting relationships with all employees. According to Enori Larrabure, these are some key actions to influence as leaders in the mental health of our collaborators:

1.

1. Practice active and constant listening, in this way, you guarantee a two-way communication with your collaborator, creating a space of trust where both can express themselves freely.

2.

2. Establish clear individual objectives and goals aligned to the strategic objectives, thus, reducing the levels of uncertainty and guiding the team to work on track.

3.

3. Promote work-life balance, so you foster a healthy work environment.

4.

4. Show a genuine interest in your employees as people and not just as co-workers.

5.

5. Motivate all employees to connect with the company’s purpose and internal culture.

5.

“At Career Partners Peru, we focus on training good leaders through our leadership programs, because we recognize the importance of establishing close, trusting and lasting relationships with the entire work team, in order to improve management in companies, generating a positive impact on the life of each person,” says Enori Larrabure.
